Yen-Ling Angelo Chiu 邱彥霖

Yen-Ling Chiu received an M.D. from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in immunology from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He works as a physician, professor, and clinician scientist at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital, Yuan Ze University, and National Taiwan University. He enjoys biomedical engineering, working with people, traveling, and listening to music.

I-Yu Katherine Chen
陳一攸

In the center of the room, there sits I-Yu. She is the administrative head of Chiu Lab and is also the lab expert in flow cytometry and cell culture experiments. She received her MS degree in biomedical engineering from Chung Yuan Christian University. She is now working on the Immune Age Index and iESRD cohort. In her free time, she loves wine.

Kai-Hsiang Victor Shu
徐愷翔醫師

Kai-Hsiang received his M.D. degree from National Taiwan University and is also a Ph.D. candidate at the Graduate School of Immunology of NTU. He works at FEMH as a nephrologist and loves to read scientific and clinical papers while taking care of transplantation patients. He is working on the chronic inflammation and mechanism of immunosenescence in renal failure patients.

Ruo-Wei Vivi Hung
洪若維

Vivi has great scientific curiosity and takes on the biggest project in the lab (TPMIC). She handles all the crazy stuff associated with it. Vivi is good at organizing and she creates wonderful PowerPoint slides. She is also the lab go to person for ELISA assays.

Yi-Fang Grace Chuang
莊宜芳

Professor Yi-Fang Chuang is an epidemiologist and psychiatrist. She received her M.D. degree from National Taiwan University and her epidemiology Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She is pivotal in establishing the longitudinal aging cohort EMCIT in New Taipei City. She works as a full professor in epidemiology at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and as an adjunct psychiatrist at Far Eastern Memorial Hospital. She not only works closely with the Chiu Lab for dementia-related research but also assists in many statistical analyses.

Kwan-Yu Lee
李觀宇醫師

Kwan-Yu is a MS student at the Graudate Institute of Medicine at YZU. He received his M.D. degree from Kaoshiung Medical University. Currently, he works as clinical oncologist at FEMH. He is currently trying to use EBV-specific T cells in a first-in-human clinical trial to treat nasopharyngeal carcinoma.

Yu-Hsiang Rita Huang
黃渝翔

Rita just joined the lab in 2022. She was in charge of projects regarding rapid antigen testing for COVID-19 and is now working on using stem cells to treat animal models of kidney failure in order to find a regenerative cure for patients.

Yun-Ting Juan
阮芸婷醫師

Yun-Ting received her M.D. degree from NCCU and works in FEMH as a nephrologist. Her project is identifying a combination of biomarkers for diagnosing IgA nephropathy to avoid renal biopsy. In her free time, she is usually in Japan or enjoying family time with her boy.

Yen-Hsiang Eason Huang
黃彥翔醫師

Eason is an excellent clinical neurologist working at FEMH. His study focuses on finding blood-based biomarkers for patients with dementia. He also partners with a start-up to utilize digital tools for early detection.

I-Mei Kristen Tseng
曾意媚

Kristen is from Vietnam. She has a cat. Currently, she works on amyloid-reactive T cells and how they promote neuroinflammation.

Bin-Rung Bruce Chuang
莊秉融醫師

Bruce graduated from FuJen Christian University in 2024. He started to work on NK cells when he joined the lab in 2020 as a medical student, and his research was awarded a travel grant from APCN. Bruce is trying to publish his first paper on NK cell aging and dysfunction in hemodialysis patients of the iESRD cohort.

Chen-Hua Andrea Lin
林辰樺

Andrea received a master’s degree from the University of Queensland and a PhD from the Institute of Public Health at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University. She is currently working as a postdoctoral researcher in the lab. Her research focuses on the potential mechanisms underlying cognitive decline and factors associated with brain health, with the goal of contributing to the promotion of healthy aging.
